My Journey
When I graduated college, I had some things to do before settling into adult life. I had dreams, projects, and callings that had been tugging on my heart. And yes, I suppose I was also terrified of the full-time work schedule.
I spent two years traveling, creating music, writing stories, and working as a substitute teacher. I simply could not ignore the things that were stirring inside of me. I look back on those years fondly. I saw incredible places, met incredible people, and spent a lot of time alone improving myself. And that’s when my first few projects were born.
Now I am heading toward the finish line of my third year of teaching in Westerville, Ohio. I absolutely love it. I thank God daily for calling me into this profession. I connect way better with kids than with all these adults… One way I connect with them is through writing. One of the highlights of my life is getting to share my creations with my students, having them ask questions, and complete worksheets about my book. They think I am the absolute coolest human being on the planet because my face is on the back of a book that Amazon created for me…
Anyway, my journey has brought me here. I spend a ridiculous amount of time on projects that I don’t know if anybody will ever see, and I make a fraction of what my book sells for. And no matter how hard the logical side of my brain tries to convince me otherwise, I won’t stop. I just love creating too much! My hope is that other people can benefit from these passions.
I don’t know if anyone other than my mom will read this. But whoever you are, if you find yourself scanning these words, I have a few pieces of advice: never stop trying to learn, live in step with the Lord, and follow every inkling of a dream you feel in your bones. Life is too short not to see where the journey takes you.
I give all the glory for anything I have ever done or created to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is radically changing my life every single day. Thank you, God, for joining me on every step of this journey. I have felt it, and I have desperately needed it.
